Art video about the borders beween Ireland en Nothern Ireland
During my period as resident (summer 2019) at 'Tyrone Guthrie Centre of Art' I made the documentary video 'Moving Ireland, Borders, The Brexit, Europe and Peace '. I travelled around in a white outfit with a white flag (as a token for peace) in search for the remnants of the borders between Ireland and Northern Ireland. I hardly could find any remains. There have been more than 100 crossings and all has been restored after the peace covenant in 1998. In the residence I edited the video and presented it for discussions. I organized an exposition in and around the Centre with my video’s and the paintings paintings of Ireland. These painting ‘Never been there, but it must me like this’ I painted before I ever visited Ireland from my imagination.
