Vernissage exposition F*cking F*male

Vernissage exposition F*cking F*male . The exposition is about the image and the position of women. Lia Harkes and Anja jager present art-video's, paintings and installations. The installation "Small Housing" by Lia Harkes is a community project made with the helping hand of her female network to sculpture their image of women. These images are exhibited in an architectural surrounding of 'small "houses / cages" as methaphore for the position of women: not equal to men in terms of income, social status, and regconition as artists. An new edit of the video of Wonderwoman by Dana Birnbaum is projected over cages. in order to strss the distance between dram and reality.

In her (painted) video "This is not Japan" Lia gives the seagull an ugrade to the image of the crane, who is cherised in Japanese art. Anja Jager presents paintings of that are characterized by a fairytale-like image of women, an image that is refuted by Lia's more free-spirited images in het paintings.
